The loss of fear...

In a time when we're so desensitized to other's suffering, to watch someone being chopped to pieces or bleeding to death doesn't arouse any fear or sympathy from us anymore. There are true stories you hear of injured people who others simply walked past-like a woman who was bleeding to death in a doorway of a convenience store, and people literally stepped over her and kept going, ignoring the dying woman. We can no longer feel for others, and barely for ourselves anymore.

I still have several of my stuffed animals from when I was little, and I still feel bad if they get torn or if I drop them or leave them in a box for a long time and forget they're there, as if they're living things. Really cute, yet dark and sad.
